The Open Hardware page is added to the utopia webring.
FEB/13/2003:
After
some time of inactivity I decided to launch the first Project of
OpenHardware the universal soldering station. It can be found
under measurement.
The Design flow will be GnuEDA: gschem for
schematics entry (along with added new component libraries) gnetlist
to generate a netlist for PCB, design the pcb with PCB.
So all
tools involved are GPLd. The Design will be under the OHPL wich I
will add very soon

SEP/23/2003:
The
Universal Soldering Station will be finished soon. It took a long
time, because I did not have enough time to do it.
And nobyody was
interessted to work on it.
But we will have a new big and challenging project that I Hope, people will support, as I can not do the projects on my own having the people sitting and waiting until it is finished! This is no fun.
Help me, get involved! This is the only way we can move a thing.

Oct/30/2005:
Added section for download
and added the mechatronics area where electromechanical projects will take place. Here I started a project to modify my own car for use with rape oil because diesel becomes
more and more expensive.
The KAD is also further developed. We are now discussing again about the local bus because this is a very difficult thing. Hagen suggested to use DMA
controllers in every fpga so a transfer has to setup address translation first. Obviously we save on interconnects. But we might loose flexibility.
Here a whise trade-off has to be made.
Xilinx: The spartan xs3s1200 costs about 26Euro at 100 pieces. May be we will go with altera because of the better I/O behaviour of the cyclone2 but here the component price
plays also an importand role.
