To
provide a rough overview about the complexity of the projects we will
assign
a 1 to 10 open source transistors (the logo of
www.openhardware.de):

Digital projects are made from digital stuff: we will use microcontrollers, programmable logic (fpgas, cplds and gals).
Now there is a BIG Project, that will have the difficulty of 10 open source transistors. This will be the KAD!
The KAD (Kernel Accelerator Device) is a pci-card that consists of 2 or more FPGAs and will provide reconfigurable computing to open source operating systems – such as linux.
