To
provide a rough overview about the complexity of the projects we will
assign
a 1 to 10 open source transistors (the logo of
www.openhardware.de):
Analog projects are made from analog stuff: we will use transistors, diodes, ics, even valves besides of passive components.
One project might be a rust and paint
thickness detector for inspecting car bodies
(some car dealers
tend to cheat the customers by selling wrecks that undergone some
cosmetics...)
So all we need is a little pot core that belongs to
a medium frequency oscillator (around some 100kHz) and a circuit to
detect frequency-
shifts and power losses caused by the
aproximation of metal.
A little testing at a bone yard will prove
the function of such a device.
This is only an idea to give you a feeling about the kind of projects that are here in the future. (This project would be rated with 1-2 transistors.)
